Qualifications

• Completion of an Anesthesiologist Assistant program certified by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
• Current certification from an agency recognized by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.
• Evidence of licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑operative evaluation and intra‑operative management of patients requiring anesthesia.
• Administer appropriate anesthetics within the framework of a written practice protocol.
• Assist anesthesia machines and related equipment; assist in patient transport.
• Maintain adequate patient records.
• Participate in teaching activities and continuing education programs.
• Provide resuscitative care when indicated.
