Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Certified Anesthesia Technician to provide comprehensive support to anesthesia providers in the operating room and other clinical areas. The role includes preoperative preparation, intraoperative assistance, postoperative duties, and equipment maintenance to ensure safe patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of anesthesia machines, monitoring systems, and sterile technique, and be able to respond quickly to clinical needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Courses in medical terminology and basic physiology are preferred.
• One year of direct patient contact experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse or related clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Keep up-to-date with advancements in anesthesia technology and procedures.
• Train and mentor new anesthesia technicians and OR staff in equipment use and maintenance.
• Respond promptly to anesthesia personnel requests for supplies, support, or emergency interventions.

Experience

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Anesthesia Technician Certification required.
• BLS issued through American Heart Association preferred.

In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
