Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team by preparing and organizing equipment for surgical procedures. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of experience as a Patient Care Technician and possess a High School Graduate / GED. Responsibilities include assisting patients during procedures, maintaining anesthesia equipment, and ensuring safety and cleanliness. Qualifications

  • One year experience as an Anesthesia Technician is preferred.
  • Experience with arterial and central lines is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with transfers and monitoring devices.
  • Respond quickly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

The Anesthesia Technician plays a key role in supporting the anesthesia team and surgical staff to ensure safe, smooth procedures.

  • Preparing and organizing anesthesia equipment and supplies by reviewing surgery schedules and planning for what the team will need
  • Setting up, transporting, and maintaining anesthesia carts and equipment to keep all supplies clean and ready for safe use
  • Helping patients by assisting with transfers, positioning, preparation, and applying non-invasive monitoring devices
  • Acting quickly and confidently if an emergency happens
  • Keeping the environment clean and safe by following infection prevention and safety practices
  • Speaking openly with patients, families, and your team, always protecting patient privacy and advocating for patient rights
Qualifications

The following qualifications are required or preferred for this role.

  • Experience
    • One year experience in operating room as a Patient Care Technician – required
    • One year experience as an Anesthesia Technician – preferred
    • Experience with arterial and central lines – preferred
  • Education
    • High School Graduate / GED
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support as per St. David's Healthcare policy
