Job description

Certified Addiction Counselor

Location: Washington, Pennsylvania, United States

Position Type: Full-Time

Shift: 1st Shift - with weekends

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with one afternoon shift a week from 11:00am-7pm and on-call rotation every 5th week and weekend.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field required
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) certification is required
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working with individuals with co-occurring substance abuse/mental health disorders required
  • Active driver's license required
Description

At Merakey, we seek a Certified Addiction Counselor to join our Assertive Community Treatment team in Canonsburg, PA and Waynesburg, PA. This role involves working with populations across Washington and Greene Counties, providing expert consultation on co-occurring disorders, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support, counseling, and education to clients, families, and team members about substance abuse disorders.
  • Prepare reports and testify in legal proceedings as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and treatment planning to assess patients and support staff training.
About ACT

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams include psychiatrists, nurses, mental health and substance abuse professionals, employment and housing specialists, and peer specialists. They deliver services in clients' homes or communities, including at least three visits per week.
