Job summary

Nags Head Treatment Center in North Carolina seeks a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor to support a caseload with quality, evidence-based care in accordance with state and federal standards.

You will conduct individual and group counseling, develop treatment plans, maintain clear documentation, coordinate referrals, and work closely with the Program Director and clinical teams. This full-time, in-person role requires professional ethics and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to counseling.
• Registration with North Carolina Substance Abuse Board required; supervision if not licensed.
• Experience in counseling or chemical dependency fields preferred.
• Ability to work independently and maintain professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling aligned with treatment plans.
• Maintain clear, confidential documentation including assessments and treatment plans.
• Coordinate referrals and follow up after discharge when needed.
• Respond to crisis and motivate patients toward behavioral change.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure quality care.
