Job summary

The CBDM Certification Manager will assist the Executive Director in the day-to-day operation of the certification program and serve as the primary liaison with other departments. The role requires handling escalation of issues and ensuring accurate, timely information for candidates and credential holders.

Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals/Certifying Board of Dietary Managers (CBDM)

We are looking for a Certification Manager to assist the Executive Director of the CBDM in day-to-day operation of our certification program. The Certification Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with other departments to provide timely, effective, accurate, and organized information as well as function as the first line for escalation of problem-solving and troubleshooting for the certification program.

The Certification Manager reports to the Executive Director of the CBDM and supervises a staff of two.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the exam application process internally and with the exam services provider.
  • Manage CE audit operations.
  • Lead the certification appeals process.
  • Serve as first level of escalation for all certification related issues and complaints.
  • Manage the recruitment and effective execution of Item Writers Committee meeting in conjunction with exam services provider.
  • Oversee CBDM Prior Approval Program.
  • Manage ongoing compliance with NCCA standards.
  • Conduct internal audit for certification indicators, report findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate and manage compliance of CBDM policies internally (ANFP staff) and externally (exam services provider). Conduct training as needed.
  • Manage content on CBDM website to provide consistent messaging across CBDM and ANFP communication channels.
  • Supervise the Certification Coordinator team of two
  • Manage content in certification related communications sent to candidates/credential holders.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum five years professional experience in foodservice/dietetics or certification industry. RDN, CDM, CFPP or ICE-CCP required.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), be well organized, detail oriented, a proactive and effective project manager, have the ability to manage and prioritize a variety of projects simultaneously, have a positive personality and a desire to work with members and nonmembers, be an independent thinker and problem solver, have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment without direct supervision and have outstanding supervisory skills with the ability to lead and mentor Certification Coordinators.

Travel:

Must be able to travel to periodic meetings in the Chicago metropolitan area, participate in two CBDM face-to-face meetings per year, and training conferences as appropriate.
