We are Tenacious

We are relentlessly focused on solving important problems for our customers that will help their carbon projects be more successful in improving the health of our climate.

We are Precise

Trust is paramount. At Mangrove we operate with surgical precision because we know that the success of our customers' carbon projects relies on their unwavering trust in our data and our platform’s meticulous ability to track CO2 and its respective emissions.

We are Thoughtful

We believe that the right solution requires a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and challenges. This understanding is manifested in every design and every solution that we build.

About The Role

As a team member in Certification (Low Carbon Fuels), you will own end-to-end delivery of fuel certification engagements across major North American and international programs.

You will work directly with fuel producers, auditors, regulators, and program administrators to ensure projects achieve on-time, audit-ready certification under complex regulatory regimes. This role blends technical depth (LCA, CI modeling), program management, and external stakeholder management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead certification engagements for renewable and low-carbon fuel programs, including:
  • CA-LCFS, CFR, RFS, ISCC, EU RED, RSB, CleanCounts and similar programs
  • Own preparation and review of all certification deliverables, including:
  • CI models, LCAs, fuel pathway documentation, verification packages
  • Perform and QA life cycle assessment (LCA) and carbon intensity (CI) calculations across fuel pathways such as:
  • Renewable natural gas (RNG)
  • Biofuels (ethanol, biodiesel, SAF)
  • Drive project plans, timelines, and internal checklists to ensure audit-defensible, on-time delivery
  • Advise customers on best practices related to data collection and traceability, lab testing and sampling, ongoing compliance and recertification
  • Maintain deep, current knowledge of fuel program rules and methodology updates and translate them into clear, actionable guidance
  • Partner with Product to automate and systematize certification workflows, improving throughput, quality, and margins in the fuels certification line
Qualifications & Experience

Successful candidates are likely to have the following qualifications and experiences; we strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all of the items below.

  • 3–5 years of client-facing experience in top-tier consulting, or other professional services, with demonstrated excellence in delivery and stakeholder management
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience
  • Experience in carbon removal or low carbon fuels, with hands-on exposure to renewable fuel programs (or the ability to develop deep understanding quickly)
  • Practical experience conducting or reviewing LCAs and CI calculations for fuel pathways
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder certification processes
Nice to have
  • Direct experience with certification bodies or regulators (e.g., CARB, EPA, ISCC auditors)
  • Formal LCA training or certification
  • Prior experience assembling or reviewing verification packages
Skills & Traits We Value
  • Customer obsessed: passionately committed to understanding and fulfilling customer needs, you prioritize customer satisfaction in every aspect of the certification process
  • Highly detail-oriented: you sweat the small stuff, you’ve managed complex programs before, and you know the hurdles to jump through for a successful delivery
  • Insatiably curious: you are naturally motivated to go deep to learn how specific technologies generate climate impact, how credits are traded on markets
  • Adaptable and resilient: scope changes, timelines adjust, challenges emerge — you’re skilled at finding elegant solutions to complex problems
  • Exceptionally perceptive: strong engagement skills and presence, with an ability to establish relationships with key decision makers and build credibility at all levels
  • Adept at leveraging AI and automation: you think creatively about how to expand your capacity using automation, smart workflows, and AI tools—freeing up time and energy for high-impact work
  • Bias towards action: you are a barrel. You get things done and can make decisions while understanding tradeoffs
If this sounds like you

We’d love to hear from you. We’re growing and are excited to have teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We’re passionate about building a diverse team that will make a meaningful impact on the planet.
