Job description

ERM Certification and Verification Services (CVS ), a rapidly growing global team within ERM Group, is a Certification, Assurance, and Verification Body with expertise in audit, assessment, validation, verification, and assurance work in a wide range of ESG disciplines and sectors.

This job aims to lead accredited health, safety, environmental, or quality audits for ERM CVS services, covering certification and verification services. This role will be based in North America, ideally located on the west or northeast coasts of the U.S. The assessor’s position will involve 50% to 75% travel, but is a remote, work-from-home role when not travelling. Audits will predominantly take place in the U.S., but global travel may be required. Main sectors of auditing and verification include Oil and Gas, Mining and Minerals, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Technology, and Data Centers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead assessments according to ERM CVS procedures, prepare reports, and determine assessment conclusions.
  • Participate in the development of ERM CVS core competencies and processes, including proactive sharing of knowledge and experience.
  • Support business growth via the identification and development of sales opportunities with the support of relevant ERM CVS Partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate degree level qualification in relevant subject matter or suitable Health, Safety, Environmental, or Quality professional education.
  • Five years of relevant professional experience, including operational, development, or assessment of management systems designed to deliver services and products to customers, as well as performance reporting of EHS objectives.
  • Sector experience covering one or more of the following:
    • Oil and Gas with an understanding of upstream and downstream processes.
    • Mining and Minerals with an understanding of IRMA, ASI, and CopperMark, both open pit and subterranean operations.
    • Data Centre operations with an understanding of energy usage and EHS systems.
    • General Manufacturing/Fabrication processes, including but not limited to pharmaceutical, metals, transportation, machinery, and household goods.
  • Training and understanding of at least two or more of the following management system standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
  • Working knowledge and application of ISO 17021 and ISO 17029.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations in the U.S. or throughout the Americas, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, industry-specific, and local regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven success in effective audit delivery to achieve planned timelines.
  • Excellent client communication skills, able to secure trust at all levels of the organization and across different cultures.
  • Able to present confidently and effectively.
  • Able to recognize risks and opportunities and prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Ability to coach others in audit delivery requirements.
  • Fluent English speaker with clear and concise written and spoken English, other languages advantageous (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese).
