Job summary

Humanetics is seeking a Certification Lab Technician for crash test dummies in Huron, OH. The role involves planning and executing dynamic and static tests, setting up lab equipment, and collecting data using PC-based systems.

The candidate will disassemble, inspect, and calibrate instruments to maintain precision. Shifts are 2pm–10:30pm or 10pm–6:30am, with responsibilities including assisting engineers and participating in internal audits as needed.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent.
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training.

2nd Shift (2pm-10:30pm) or 3rd Shift (10:00pm-6:30am)

Role Purpose: Performs dynamic and static tests in accordance to government regulations, regulatory body specifications and manufacturing requirements. Dynamic tests are performed using free falling impact probes, accelerometers, load cells, displacement transducers and PC based data acquisition systems. Repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical equipment for conformance to established standards, and assists in formulating testing and work standards.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Plans sequence of testing and certification procedures for instruments (crash test dummies) and equipment.
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and certify other instruments and test equipment.
  • Input data information and utilize data acquisition systems to perform system checks and data collection for ATDs.
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
  • Measures parts for conformity with specifications.
  • Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts.
  • Reassembles and certifies instruments and equipment.
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
  • May be required to participate in a Company’s internal audit system as an internal auditor.

Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
