Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a hybrid role in Winston-Salem, NC, focusing on certification and regulatory compliance across products from concept to market. The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to UL, FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx standards.

The candidate will develop strategies, coordinate with testing laboratories, manage documentation, and support audits and regulatory reviews while driving cost-effective certification programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 years of hands-on experience in product certification, regulatory compliance, or product compliance roles.
• Strong experience with UL, FM, and CSA standards and certification processes.
• Demonstrated expertise with ATEX and IECEx regulatory frameworks for hazardous locations and international compliance.
• Proficiency in managing certification and regulatory activities using structured, process-driven methodologies; experience with notified bodies and testing labs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage certification requirements across the product lifecycle from concept through commercialization.
• Develop and implement certification strategies aligning with regulatory requirements for the Americas region.
• Coordinate with certification agencies, notified bodies, and testing laboratories to obtain and maintain approvals.
• Ensure products meet international standards such as UL, FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx.
• Prepare certification reports and technical documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Provide guidance to engineering on certification requirements and regulatory risks.
• Support design teams to meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
