Job summary

Aerospace Systems International, LLC in Wichita, KS seeks a Certification Engineer II or III - Electrical Systems to lead certification activities for aircraft electrical and avionics systems.

The role includes reviewing drawings for compliance, developing plans and reports, coordinating with FAA/ODA and foreign authorities, and mentoring junior engineers for Level III. Hybrid work blend and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Work with FAA/ODA representatives and foreign authorities on planning and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with engineering, suppliers, customers, and program teams to resolve issues.
  • For Level III, provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

We're looking for a Certification Engineer II or III - Electrical Systems to join our Engineering team supporting the certification of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.

What You'll Do
  • Review engineering drawings and designs for compliance with aircraft certification requirements.
  • Develop certification plans, test plans, conformity requests, compliance reports, and other certification documentation.
  • Support electrical load analysis and certification strategies for electrical and avionics systems.
  • Demonstrate compliance with 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25 requirements.
  • Work with FAA/ODA representatives and foreign regulatory authorities on certification planning and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, suppliers, customers, and program teams to resolve technical and certification issues.
  • For Level III candidates, provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and help lead certification efforts across projects and programs.
What We're Looking For
  • Level II: 3+ years of electrical engineering experience and 1+ year of regulatory certification experience focused on Electrical Engineering.
  • Level III: 7+ years of electrical engineering experience and 3+ years of Electrical and/or Avionics regulatory certification experience.
  • Working knowledge of applicable FAA, EASA, and TCCA certification requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CATIA V5 or similar CAD tools.
  • Experience with electrical bonding/grounding, EMI/HIRF, lightning protection, and Part 23/25 aircraft certification is a plus.
  • Approximately 5-10% travel depending on level.
