As a certificated teacher, you will collaborate with children and families within our Kindergarten and PUF programs. You uphold principles of inclusion and diversity within our classrooms and childcare programs. You will work under the supervision of the Kindergarten Manager, who reports to the Educational Supports Manager.

Job Responsibilities

1. Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
2. Participate within a Professional Learning Community.
3. Develop and execute Individual Program Plans (IPP’s) for our Program Unit Funded (PUF) program, supporting Educational Assistants and classroom educators.
4. Follow the Alberta Education Curriculum and the Scope and Sequence for our Kindergarten program. Submit weekly lesson plans to the Kindergarten Manager if you are a Kindergarten teacher.
5. Foster relationships with children, families, the therapy team, and Centre staff through effective communication.
6. Collaborate with families, the therapy team, and other stakeholders.
7. Complete report cards, IPPs, Professional Growth Plans, and other paperwork promptly.
8. Enjoy sick time benefits.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this position, you must have an Alberta Education Interim or Permanent Certification.

You must be eligible to work in Canada with a valid work permit. We are unable to sponsor teachers to come to Canada.

This is an Alberta Education Curriculum Teaching Position.

• Hold a Bachelor of Education degree with an interim or permanent teaching certificate from Alberta Education.
• Possess excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Have a driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Provide a police clearance and vulnerable sector check (completed within 6 months of start date).
• Maintain current Standard First Aid and Child CPR certifications.
