Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support cardiopulmonary care under physician direction. You will work with respiratory procedures, critical care modalities, and blood gas analysis in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has AR LRCP licensure, CRT eligibility, CPR certification, and comfort using health care computer systems. Hospital experience and additional education are preferred to advance patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Must hold a current Arkansas LRCP license (temporary or permanent).
• Working knowledge of respiratory care procedures and modalities incl. critical care and blood gas analysis.
• Eligible to take NBRC CRT exam; CPR certification required.
• Must be able to operate in a health care computer environment.
• Preferred: additional college or associate degree.
• Preferred hospital experience.
• Preferred certifications: NRP, PALS, ACLS.
• Advanced computer skills to learn and operate computerized equipment.

Overview
Respiratory Care is the practice of the principles, techniques, psychology and theories of cardiopulmonary medicine under the verbal or written direction or prescription of a licensed physician and/or under the supervision of a qualified medical director.

Position Details:

• QualificationsEducation: Must be a graduate of an approved AMA school for Respiratory Therapy.
• Licensure: Must hold a current temporary or permanent license (LRCP) from the State of Arkansas.
• Experience: Must have a working knowledge of all Respiratory Care procedures and modalities including Critical Care and Blood Gas analysis
• Certifications: Must be eligible to take or have passed the Certification (CRT) exam given by the NBRC. Must be Certified by the American Heart Association to provide CPR.
• Other: Must be able to work with computers in a health care environment
• Preferred Education: Additional College and/or Associate Degree
• Preferred Licensure:
• Preferred Experience: Previous experience working in a hospital environment
• Preferred Certifications: NRP CertificationPALS CertifiedACLS Certified
