Job summary

CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV is seeking a CERT Patient Care Tech to join the Nursing Medical Surgical team. This full-time role supports licensed staff by performing direct and indirect patient care, documenting vital signs, preparing for exams, and assisting with hygiene and comfort.

You will rotate weekends with every third weekend, work nights, and help maintain a safe, clean environment while communicating effectively with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain BLS within 30 days of hire date.
• Must meet one: nationally certified patient care technician; WVU Patient Care Technician program; CNA certification in OH or WV.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists in admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists with personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• Records oral intake and outputs (temperature, blood pressure, etc.).
• Assists in specimen collection and related patient care activities.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to help prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment issues promptly according to procedures.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicates nutrition concerns to the RN and supports diet changes.
• Supports department with administrative tasks and answers call bells.
