Location: US:WI:WAUWATOSA at our FROEDTERT BLUEMOUND REHAB HOSP facility.

This job is ON - SITE.

Shift: Shift 4

Job Summary:
Participates with the interdisciplinary care team in the delivery of the patient's plan of care. Provides hands-on patient care and will assist the RN and other team members with treatments, procedures, and reporting pertinent information to the appropriate care team member. Performs specific service and technical duties necessary to provide for the comfort, care, and safety of patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment on the nursing unit. Does not function as a Patient Safety Attendant (sitter). Cannot float to CMH Mental Health Center. Reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty on each assigned shift.

Other Information:
EXPERIENCE: None. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: None. EDUCATION: Enrolled in and actively pursuing a high school diploma program. Incumbents in the position prior to October 1, 2007 may substitute this educational requirement with the following statement - Ability to read, write and communicate complicated verbal and written communications at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school education. TRAINING: None. SPECIAL SKILLS: Good interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel. Sound communication and writing skills. Math skills to perform simple arithmetic calculations. Observational and analytical skills to identify patient changes/problems to prioritize and react appropriately. Familiarity with PCs and other computerized patient care tools, or demonstrated ability to learn. LICENSURE: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

  • Summer CNA Apprentice opportunity. Potential of transferring into a smaller FTE/more flexible schedule after the summer (i.e. during the school year).
  • Located at either Froedtert Bluemound Hospital or Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital.
  • Enrollment in a high school diploma program AND State of Wisconsin CNA certification needed.
