Job description

This is a rewarding role as a Complex Care Support Worker for a young man with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Epilepsy, and Dysphagia. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to help him lead a fulfilling life and achieve his personal goals, both within a family home and in community settings.

Main duties of the job

The Complex Care Support Worker will deliver personalized care and support, assist with daily living activities, administer medication, provide emotional support, and collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members. The role requires flexibility to work 12-hour day and night shifts, and a UK driving license is essential for the day shifts.

Job responsibilities

Complex Care Support Worker

Location: Bedford

Hours: 12-hour day shifts and night shifts available.

Pay: £15.80 per hour weekdays, £16.80 per hour night shifts & Saturday day shift, £17.80 per hour Sunday day shift.

Additional hours are available for 2:1 support, including community outings.

We seek a compassionate, dedicated, adaptable, and reliable support worker to provide tailored support to a young man with complex needs.

This role involves offering flexible support, promoting independence, and ensuring his physical and emotional wellbeing both at home and in the community.

Due to role responsibilities, a full UK driving license is required for day shifts.

About the Client:

The client is a 20-year-old male with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Epilepsy, and Dysphagia, wheelchair-dependent. He values independence and makes his own choices with respectful encouragement, but needs guided support for safety and focus on his goals. He is currently attending a specialist education college, planning to return home in June/July, and will start a local further education college in September.

He likes cats, trains, buses, cinema, music, church, Olympics, and balloons. He has two cats at home, so team members should be comfortable with animals.
