Job summary

Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada, seeks a full-time, tenure-track Art Instructor – Ceramics to teach beginning and intermediate Ceramics courses and to coordinate the Ceramics area. Qualifications

• MFA or equivalent in ceramics from a regionally accredited institution.
• College-level teaching experience in Ceramics equivalent to 1 academic year (30 credits).
• Strong knowledge of wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques.
• Deep knowledge of ceramic materials, glazes, firing, and finishing.
• Experience operating and firing ceramics kilns.

Responsibilities

• Teach beginning and intermediate Ceramics courses including wheel throwing and sculpture.
• Coordinate the Ceramics area and oversee studio safety and equipment.
• Collaborate with Fine Arts faculty and mentor part-time instructors.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, program review, and recruitment.
