Job summary

Utility Global is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director, Ceramic Technology to lead our Applied Technology ceramic development team in Englewood, Colorado.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this leader will set priorities, guide technical strategy, and develop the people, processes, and roadmap needed to advance ceramic materials and manufacturing technologies for high-temperature reactor components.

Qualifications

• BS in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant industrial experience with demonstrated leadership of technical teams.
• Proven experience leading ceramic materials, processing, manufacturing development, or scale-up programs.
• Experience coaching and developing engineers, scientists, technicians, or cross-functional contributors.
• Hands-on familiarity with ceramic processing methods (extrusion, slip casting, spray coating, etc.).
• Knowledge of characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, BET, porosimetry, TGA/DSC, etc.).
• Experience applying DOE and statistical methods to guide decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team for ceramic materials and processes for high-temperature reactor components.
• Set priorities and translate objectives into a ceramic technology roadmap.
• Guide experimental strategy to improve performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Oversee bench-to-pilot-scale translation of ceramic development for manufacturing readiness.
• Establish testing standards, data analysis, and design reviews.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners.
