Job summary

Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. is seeking a President/CEO to guide the ABC Heart of America chapter, shaping its vision and directing operations across Missouri and Kansas.

The role involves working closely with the Board to set policy, advance membership value, and ensure effective governance. The incumbent will lead HR, finance, communications, and ERISA-related training trust activities, representing the Chapter at national meetings and with external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred; minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience.
• Experience in the construction or association sector is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, budgets and financial statements.
• Ability to lead and develop staff across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Chapter's strategic plan implementation and monitor progress with staff.
• Oversee human resources, compensation, and benefits in alignment with policy and law.
• Manage finances, budgeting, contracts, and reporting; ensure ERISA/trust compliance.
• Represent the Chapter to members, national associations, and external stakeholders.
