Job summary

FLSmidth is seeking a Centrifuge Mechanic in Charleston, West Virginia. The role involves manual assembly and repair of centrifuge components, using hand tools to apply wear resistance materials and following blueprints and client specifications. Safe work practices and occasional cross-training are emphasized.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience and can operate basic equipment while maintaining quality and safety standards in a heavy industry setting.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to use computer for time tracking purposes.
• Understanding of lining materials and how they affect product performance.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual work following defined instructions to support production targets.
• Uses hand tools to apply wear resistant materials such as rubber, ceramic tile, stone and ceramic bead to equipment.
• Identifies lining materials and applies them per blueprints and client specs.
• Maintains safe operations per company safety procedures; cross-training may be provided at management discretion.

Your responsibilities

Performs manual work within generally defined work instructions which contributes to the achievement of expected production volumes.
Uses a variety of hand tools to prepare and apply Wear Resistant Materials such as rubber, ceramic tile, stone hard and ceramic bead to equipment and components related to the mineral and mining industry

• Identify different types of lining materials
• Use safe rigging and overhead crane practice's on various heavy metal shapes
• Safe practices for hand grinding
• Safe operation of Fork-Lift
• Operate a saw to cut ceramic tiles, carbide tungsten and rubber
• Mix and apply compounds used as adhesives
• Apply various lining materials to various products as per blue prints and client specifications
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to FLSmidth safety procedures and regulations.
• As part of job enrichment, and at the company’s discretion, cross training in other areas will be given
