JOB SUMMARY The Centralized Surgery Scheduler encompasses a comprehensive array of responsibilities tailored to the coordination of highly specialized surgical procedures. This entails expertise in scheduling and authorizing intricate surgical interventions, such as neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, or orthopedic procedures, necessitating an in-depth understanding of specialized equipment, resources, and pre-operative protocols. Additionally, the role requires advanced proficiency in insurance verification specifically for surgical interventions, navigating complex insurance plans, and understanding coverage nuances for specialized treatments. A key aspect of the position involves conducting thorough assessments of medical necessity for surgeries, appointments, and procedures, particularly for specialized treatments, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize reimbursement. Acting as a primary liaison between surgeons, specialized departments, and hospital personnel, the Centralized Surgery Scheduler facilitates coordination of specialized procedures, addresses departmental needs, and streamlines processes. Furthermore, the role entails maintaining compliance with specialized procedure requirements and ensuring accurate documentation for proper reimbursement, particularly in areas with stringent regulatory guidelines. Collaboration with specialized departments to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to optimize efficiency and quality of care delivery is also essential. The Centralized Surgery Scheduler must handle highly sensitive and confidential information related to specialized surgeries and patient care with discretion and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Moreover, proficiency in emergency response coordination for specialized surgeries, along with providing training and mentorship in specialized scheduling practices, completes the comprehensive skill set required for this specialized role. JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits) Typical hours for this position: Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Opportunity for hybrid work after 6 months on-site training Education: - High School Diploma or GED- required Experience: - One (1) year of experience and knowledge in scheduling, referrals, and workflow management- preferred Saint Francis Healthcare System is committed to a compensation philosophy that aligns to the fiftieth percentile of the marketplace, while also crediting applicable and/or relevant work experience when computing compensation offers for selected candidates.
