Job description

Centralized Estimator – Restoration Services
Why We Exist

At our core, we believe in meeting people in their time of need so they can focus on what matters.

When disaster strikes—whether from water, fire, storm, or unexpected damage—our customers are often overwhelmed and uncertain about what comes next. Our job is to bring clarity, confidence, and craftsmanship into chaotic moments.

As a Centralized Estimator, you play a critical role in turning the information gathered in the field into a clear, accurate, and actionable plan for restoration. You help our teams move projects forward by making sure scopes are complete, estimates are accurate, and documentation supports the work being performed.

We don’t just estimate repairs—we help restore peace of mind. And that starts with the people on our team.

We live our values every day:

  • Always Growing — We pursue knowledge, sharpen our skills, and continuously improve.
  • Do the Right Thing — We act with integrity, even when no one is watching.
  • No Jerks — We treat teammates, customers, and partners with respect. Culture matters.
  • Pride in Everything — From communication to craftsmanship, we take ownership of our work.

If those values resonate with you, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role

We are looking for a Centralized Estimator who can take information from our field teams and turn it into accurate, detailed, and well-supported restoration estimates.

Unlike a traditional field estimator, this position is primarily centralized and works closely with our Project Managers, field teams, adjusters, and internal leadership across multiple locations.

You will review photos, measurements, documentation, notes, and project information to develop detailed scopes of work and estimates. You will also communicate with Project Managers and adjusters to clarify scope, address questions, and make sure projects are properly documented and positioned for successful production and billing.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with estimating software, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities at once.

What You'll Do
Centralized Estimating
  • Develop accurate and detailed restoration estimates based on information provided by field teams
  • Review job photos, measurements, notes, sketches, documentation, and other available information
  • Build scopes of work that accurately reflect the work required
  • Ensure estimates follow company processes, industry standards, and applicable insurance requirements
  • Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission
  • Manage multiple estimates across multiple projects and locations
  • Meet established estimating deadlines and turnaround expectations
Scope & Documentation Review
  • Review field documentation to ensure sufficient information is available to accurately estimate the project
  • Identify missing information, unclear scopes, or potential discrepancies
  • Communicate with Project Managers and field personnel when additional information is needed
  • Identify potential change orders or additional work before they become production issues
  • Help ensure job files contain the documentation necessary to support the proposed scope
  • Maintain accurate and organized estimating records
Insurance & Adjuster Communication
  • Prepare and submit estimates to insurance carriers, adjusters, TPAs, and other applicable parties
  • Communicate professionally with adjusters regarding scope, pricing, and documentation
  • Respond to estimate questions, revisions, and requests for additional information
  • Support negotiations and revisions when the approved scope differs from the documented needs
  • Provide clear documentation to support necessary repairs and changes in scope
  • Maintain a professional and solutions-focused approach when resolving disagreements
Project Manager & Field Team Support
  • Serve as a centralized estimating resource for Project Managers and field teams
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure estimates accurately represent project needs
  • Help field teams understand what documentation is required for accurate estimating
  • Identify estimating or documentation issues early and communicate them to the appropriate team member
  • Provide guidance and support regarding estimating processes and best practices
  • Help create a smooth transition from initial project information to approved scope and production
Quality & Accountability
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy across all estimates
  • Take ownership of estimates from initial review through submission and revision
  • Monitor estimate turnaround times and workload
  • Identify recurring estimating or documentation issues and recommend process improvements
  • Help maintain consistency in estimating practices across all company locations
  • Continuously improve knowledge of restoration practices, estimating standards, and insurance requirements
What Success Looks Like in This Role
  • Estimates are accurate, detailed, and completed within established timelines
  • Project Managers and field teams know exactly what information is needed to complete an estimate
  • Estimates clearly communicate the work required
  • Adjusters receive professional, well-supported documentation
  • Estimates require minimal avoidable revisions
  • Missing information is identified early rather than after production has started
  • Project files are organized and properly documented
  • Estimating practices are consistent across company locations
  • Project Managers feel supported rather than slowed down by the estimating process
  • You help identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, efficiency, and profitability
  • Projects move from scope to production with fewer surprises and less rework
What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong attention to detail
  • Is highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Is comfortable working with estimating software and technology
  • Can interpret construction documentation, photos, measurements, and project notes
  • Understands restoration or construction processes
  • Can work independently while maintaining strong communication with remote and field teams
  • Is comfortable communicating with insurance adjusters and other industry partners
  • Can identify problems and find practical solutions
  • Takes ownership of deadlines and deliverables
  • Is willing to learn and continuously improve
  • Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work

Restoration estimating experience is preferred, particularly experience with insurance restoration, Xactimate, or similar estimating platforms. Construction estimating, project management, or restoration experience may also provide a strong foundation for success in this role.
