The role you’ll contribute:

The Centralized Employee Relations (CERS) Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the employee relations function for assigned facilities. Administration includes consultation on employee relations issues for employees and leadership, and facilitation of initiatives to foster a positive employee relations environment that aligns with the mission and values of AdventHealth. This role is responsible for data reports, identifying and recommending solutions where applicable, and providing ongoing case management as appropriate.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Maintains a positive employee relations climate by proactively providing guidance to managers and responding to employee inquiries
  • Works collaboratively with the Employee Relations Partner (ERP) and departmental leadership in carrying out their responsibilities on employee relations matters
  • Participates in the resolution of ongoing employee relations problems, such as working conditions, disciplinary actions and employee appeals and grievances
  • Responds effectively and timely to employee relations queries in accordance with established SLA (Service Level Agreements) guidelines
  • Recommends and initiates appropriate steps for resolution in accordance with policies and procedures in collaboration with the Employee Relations Partner
  • Documents all employee relations matters as appropriate for the situation and in accordance with legal compliance and organizational policies and procedures
  • Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to departmental leaders and employees in collaboration with the Employee Relations Partner
  • Manages the termination and disciplinary processing as it relates to the leave of absence process
  • Manages and verify subpoenas by accurately reviewing, retrieving relevant records, preparing responses and ensuring timely compliance with legal deadlines
  • Responds to state agency unemployment claims with all pertinent details within the time frame defined by the state
  • Manages the process for all reduction in force, position elimination and mutual agreements for assigned facilities
  • Monitors employee relations metrics and trends to identify potential issues and areas for improvement
  • Actively listens, clearly articulates information and effectively communicates with diverse individuals
  • Maintains discretion when handling sensitive employee information
  • Consults with Employee Relations department and Employee Relations Manager on employee relations issues as needed
  • Stays current on employment law, as well as employment trends; Proactively researches information to ensure compliance, provide appropriate consultation, and avoid/eliminate exposure to the organization
Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's preferably in Business, Human Resources, or relevant field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Human Capital Management (HCM) experience, especially PeopleSoft
