Role Overview
Transportation Professional Services Leader will oversee technical and business excellence across the Business Group, ensuring project profitability, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, monitor, and improve technical competencies of Business Group staff.
- Assist with daily operations, including project oversight, management reviews, financials, and profitability.
- Supervise key cross‑sector leads and ensure groups deliver critical value, grow, or reduce risk.
- Lead and monitor development and training of area staff in technical and business competencies.
- Work with market sector leads on workload projections and coordinate workload sharing with other Business Groups or Areas.
- Lead quality assurance efforts to implement QA/QC Program activities and continuous improvement.
- Monitor project QC Review activities, including assignment of experienced and qualified reviewers.
- Lead and monitor activities for continuous improvement, including development and use of technical standards, procedures, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Lead and participate in project reviews, manage claims and losses, and support RevRec meetings.
- Review hiring needs, requisitions, and offers as delegated by the Business Group Manager.
- Participate in key pursuit teaming, staffing discussion, and fee development.
- Partner with Market Sector Leaders and Project Delivery Leader.
- Oversee technical and digital delivery evolution in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Work with the Business Group Manager to streamline and coordinate business processes consistent with area corporate policy and MOA.
- Oversee and ensure implementation of quality standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with area operations, market sectors, business classes, and delivery leaders.
- Review and approve fee proposals as delegated by the Business Group Manager.
- Serve as a champion for BGX opportunities.
- Support communication and coordination within all business groups.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years' experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the local market.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience.
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration with related technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams; committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
- Active membership in professional or industry associations that enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
- Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, area business group directors, technical directors, and marketing managers.
- Commitment to an active participation in the employee‑owned culture.
