Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Warehouse/Storeroom Technician to receive, store, and distribute supplies across hospital departments. The role involves ERP-based receiving, inventory management, and delivery to multiple locations on campus.

A valid Ohio driver\'s license and basic Excel skills are required, with preferred experience in healthcare settings. The position is full-time, onsite in Boardman, OH, with a 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM schedule and alternating weekends, supporting hospital operations

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year relevant experience preferred.
• Valid Ohio driver\'s license required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain ACH insurance requirements.
• Experience in warehouse or hospital storeroom is preferred.
• Healthcare experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Receive assignments, greet delivery vehicles, inspect packages for damage, and log into Infor ERP.
• Ensure counts align between vendor packing lists, products, and ERP, documenting variances.
• Perform PAR duties: collect Kanban bins, replenish items, and use handheld devices.
• Deliver filled bins and non-kanban supplies to departments and rooms.
• Stock storeroom shelves, organize supplies, remove expired items, and maintain supply areas.
• Conduct inventory counts during physical inventories, cycle counts, or on-hand verifications.
• Follow hazmat labeling and hospital protocol for hazardous materials handling.
• Respond promptly to department inquiries and perform additional tasks as required.

M-F, Days 6AM - 2:30PM & Alternating Weekends

Summary

Receives packages, distributes supplies to departments in the hospital and to surrounding hospital buildings. Inventories and replenishes supplies to nursing units and ancillary patient care areas according to established schedules and levels. Assists departments / customers with questions and supply needs. Maintains the Storeroom, Receiving and other supply areas.

Responsibilities

• Receiving assignment; greets incoming delivery vehicles, delivered packages are physically inspected for damage and accepted. Packages contents are received in hospital's ERP system (Infor). Standard work instructions are followed for packages not listing a purchase order. Received supplies are organized and delivered to departments. Drives hospital vehicle to deliver supplies to departments located off the main hospital campus.
• Receiving assignment; assures accuracy in counts between vendor packing list, physical product and ERP purchase order. Variances are documented in the ERP or per receiving protocol.
• PAR assignment; Collects Kanban bins from assigned departments and return bins to Storeroom for replenishment, or conduct PAR level counts in non-Kanban department storage areas to determine replenishment quantities. Mobile handheld devices are used to replenishment items and decrement inventory.
• PAR assignment; delivers filled bins and non-Kanban supplies to the appropriate department and room and shelving locations.
• Stocks Storeroom shelves, straightens supplies, removes unneeded packaging, identify expired or compromised inventory, and performs other tasks associated with maintaining the Storeroom, Receiving and other supply areas managed by Supply Chain Management.
• Performs inventory issues when filling department requisitions. Performs inventory counts associated with physical inventories, cycle counts or on-hand quantity verifications.
• Technician will be familiar with hazmat package labelling and follows hospital protocol in handling hazardous materials.
• Technician promptly and courteously responds to department / customer phone calls and inquiries. Performs other tasks as required.

Technical Expertise

• Experience in a warehouse or hospital storeroom is preferred.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
• Experience in healthcare is helpful.
• Prior experience working with a Supply Chain Management Electronic Resource Planning (ERP) system preferred, working with ERP mobile devices helpful.
• Valid Ohio driver's license
• Basic understanding of Excel preferred.

Education and Experience

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification: None required
• Years of relevant experience: 1 year preferred.
• Years of experience supervising: None.
• Possesses a valid State driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain insurability as determined by the ACH insurance carrier's requirements.
• An annual physical is required to be completed with the Akron Children's Hospital Employee Health Department.
