Job summary

Providence is seeking a materials handler in Seattle to manage physical inventories, enter data in the MMIS, and pick and stock materials for patient care and ancillary areas. You will support reliable stocking, on-time deliveries, and appropriate stock rotation to minimize expiry risks and ensure smooth operations within the Swedish First Hill campus.

Responsibilities

• Conducts physical inventory of supply areas and enters data in the MM system.
• Accurately picks items listed on pick tickets and delivers to supply areas.
• Stocks materials from warehouse to distribution areas and rotates stock on FIFO/EOD rules.
• Interacts with internal and external customers including staff, patients, vendors and visitors.

Job description

Conducts physical inventory of supply areas, such as patient care and ancillary areas. Utilizes the MM (Material Management) System to enter data and generate pick tickets. Accurately picks items listed on pick tickets. Responsible for delivery and stocking of materials to the various supply areas. Stocks materials from warehouse to clean distribution areas. Rotates stock in MSC Inventories, FH ED or Issaquah Campus and on par levels on a first-in/first-out basis for all items that do not have manufacture expiration dates printed on the item and/or packaging. Rotates stock in MSC Inventory and on par levels on an earliest expiration date first-out basis for all items that do have manufacture expiration dates printed on the item and/or packaging. This position has regular interactions with internal and external customers, including co-workers, other Swedish employees, patients and visitors, representatives from other hospitals and various vendors.

Required Qualifications:

• 1 year recent experience (within the past 5 years) working in a Supply Chain environment utilizing a computerized Materials Management Information System.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training:Inventory and supply distribution management courses.
• Upon hire: Forklift certification.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience with material handling equipment (hand trucks, pallet jack, etc.).
