NYU Langone Health is looking for a Central Sterile Technician to join their team in New York. This role entails managing instrument exchange, ensuring quality standards are met, and assisting with the decontamination of surgical instruments.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Central Sterile Technician-ACC 38th St SPD-Swing Day Shift (37.5 Hours).
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for all instrument exchange carts, par level carts, instrument sets, single peel packs, and emergency supplies, meeting established quality and quantity quotas. The candidate delivers these to the surgical suites in a timely manner, decontaminates, disinfects, tests, adjusts, and assembles mobile patient equipment, and assists in decontaminating designated surgical instrumentation. They inventory, order, and stock medical disposable goods in storage areas and are responsible for material handling within the sterile processing area. They also answer telephones, handle face-to-face interactions with internal and external customers, and actively participate in continuous quality improvement processes.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Certification from the Certification for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD): one of Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER). Provisional certification is acceptable. 400 hours of hands‑on training must be completed prior to expiration of provisional certification.
Sterile Processing & Distribution-Certified CBSPD, Central Sterile Technician (HSPA)
Knowledge of specific health care products, patient care equipment, surgical instruments, medical terminology, and basic use. Completion of a formal central service technician or surgical technologist education program. Basic computer skills.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
