Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receives, sorts, inventories, decontaminates, cleans, inspects, and sterilizes surgical items.
• Loads and operates washer-decontaminators, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers.
• Dates, stores and rotates sterile and non-sterile items; inspects for outdated items.
• Uses and evaluates sterilizer test indicators.
• Inventories and maintains prescribed levels of sterile items for OR, ER and other clinical areas.
• Reports defective material or equipment and takes action to repair or replace items.
• Reports to Clinical Director of Surgical and Obstetrical Services.
