Job summary

Lifepoint Health® seeks a Central Sterile Supply Tech to join its hospital team, handling decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of sterile supplies and patient care equipment. Reports to the Director of Surgery Services and supports multiple departments with a patient-centered focus.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and compliance with AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA standards in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
• Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
• Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
• Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
• Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.

Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.

FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

License: N/A

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
