Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to prepare, distribute and control sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and instrumentation in a hospital Central Sterile Processing department. Role requires self-direction, reliability and the ability to train new staff while supporting patient care teams with excellent service.

Responsibilities include maintaining instrument sterilization, documentation of monitoring results, inventory distribution and ensuring par levels.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English to perform essential duties.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CRCST certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains decontamination, racking, wrapping and sterilization of instruments.
• Maintains instruments and equipment with proper cleaning and sterilization techniques.
• Document biological monitoring results accurately and promptly.
• Assist in inventory care and distribution of supplies.
• Maintain par levels and store and retrieve supplies efficiently.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in committees or task forces as needed.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff members.
