Job summary

Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, AK is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join the Central Sterile Supply team in Surgical Services. Reporting to the Nurse Manager and Lead Central Sterile Room Technician, you will perform decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of sterile supplies.

The role requires a high school diploma, potential prior experience in sterile processing, and a current BLS certification within 3 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized and stored.
• Distribute sterile items in a timely and quality manner for surgical use.
• Serve as resource for sterile processing functions and provide training or coaching as needed.

Bartlett Regional Hospital is searching for aCentral Sterile Technicianto join ourCentral Sterile Supply team in our Surgical Services department!

Pay Information:

Internal Hires:Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.

External Hires:This position starts at $21.59 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision of the Nurse Manager and with day to day supervision from the Lead Central Sterile Room Technician, incumbents receive formal training and clinical experience performing duties and responsibilities to ensure all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, and distributed in a quality/timely manner.

This position is the fully proficient level while the Lead level acts as the subject matter expert; serves as a resource for sterile processing functions/processes; provides training to new or existing employees; provides coaching/mentoring.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

Education:High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience:Experience in sterile processing procedures in a hospital setting.

Certification(s):Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of appointment.

License(s):None
