Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Central Sterile Technician-Cobble Hill SPD-Evening Shift (37.5 Hours).
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for all instruments exchange carts, par level carts, instrument sets, single peel packs, and emergency supplies, ensuring they meet established quotas both qualitatively and quantitatively. They deliver them to the surgical suites in a timely manner. The role also involves decontaminating, disinfecting, testing, adjusting, and assembling mobile patient equipment, assisting in decontaminating surgical instrumentation, managing inventory, and handling materials within the sterile processing area. The technician will also answer telephones, interact with internal and external customers, and participate in continuous quality improvement processes.
Job Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Certification from the Certification for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Registered Central Service Technician (HSPA): (1) CRCST, (2) CER, or (3) CFER. Provisional certification is acceptable with 400 hours of on-hands training prior to expiration.
Required Licenses: Sterile Proc & Dist-Cert CBSPD, Central Sterile tech (HSPA)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of healthcare products, patient care equipment, surgical instruments, and basic computer skills. Completion of formal central service technician or surgical technologist education program. Effective communication skills.
NYU Langone Health offers comprehensive benefits, wellness programs, and a supportive work environment. The salary range for this role is $60,853.40 - $65,407.30 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
