Overview

The Central Sterile Tech is responsible for decontaminating, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:

This position is designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the deliveryhealth care related services.

Qualifications

PRE-HIRE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education
• CS experience preferred.
• CRCST preferred, required to obtain 1 year after certification eligibility.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED PRIOR TO INDEPENCENCE FROM PRECEPTOR:

• Computer-Assisted Self-Directed New Employee Orientation
• Successful completion of Meditech Information System Orientation

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF ORIENTATION:

• Successful completion of orientation skills checklist
• Attendance at New Employee Orientation classroom program
