Job summary

St. Joseph Hospital, part of Catholic Health, is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our Perioperative Central Supply team. The role requires knowledge of surgical instruments, decontamination and sterilization, plus the ability to communicate effectively in English.

Ideal candidates have CRCST certification and at least 1 year of Central Sterile experience in an acute care setting. Lifting requirements and long periods on one's feet are expected. Computer literacy is necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CRCST certification required.
• 1 year experience in Central Sterile required; experience within an acute care facility strongly preferred.
• Must be computer-literate. Must be able to read and write basic English.

Responsibilities

• Central Sterile Technicians work in our Central Supply in the Perioperative Department.
• The technicians must have knowledge of surgical instruments, decontamination and sterilization modalities required.
• Must be able to understand and speak English, must be able to prioritize and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to lift tray up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to be on your feet for a long period of time required.
• Computer literacy required.
