Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Central Sterile Technician. The role includes decontamination, preparation, sterilization of trays and instruments, inventory control, and data entry.

Strong communication and attention to detail are required for success in this per diem, dayshift position. Ideal candidates will possess a High School Diploma or GED, two years of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification, preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred
• At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
• Central Supply Certified certification required
• Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilities
• At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
• Central Supply Certified certification required
• Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilities

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, and equipment.
• Inventory management and restocking of supplies.
• Computer data entry and patient charge card batching.
• Demonstrates knowledge of department locations and effective communication.

Responsibilities

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching. Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.
