UPMC Children’s Hospital’s Sterile Processing Department is hiring for an evening shift role. This position trains to decontaminate, clean, assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute reusable surgical instruments across our hospital network.

You will work in a team-focused environment that upholds integrity and safety, with a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and a defined career ladder. Evening shifts include every other weekend and holidays.

Responsabilités

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments manually and mechanically
• Assemble surgical trays and set up case carts per procedure requirements
• Monitor and document sterilizer parameters; troubleshoot equipment
• Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and distribution
• Follow infection control, safety, and sterile processing protocols
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments
• Participate in performance improvement and educational programs
• Demonstrate accountability, time management, and healthy work habits
• Build positive relationships and mentor others

Role Purpose

Train to perform all duties related to the decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and equipment—following strict procedures to ensure patient safety.
