Job summary

UPMC Mercy is hiring a Full-Time Sterile Processing Associate for evening (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) and night (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM) shifts. You will clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, supporting OR upgrades and relocation projects across the hospital.

This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with scrubs and shoes provided, a career ladder program for advancement, and opportunities to contribute to life-saving patient care.

Qualifications

• Prior healthcare experience is required.
• Solid attendance and professionalism are expected.
• Certification is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments using manual and mechanical methods.
• Assemble surgical trays and case carts per established protocols.
• Monitor and document sterilization parameters.
• Maintain and troubleshoot sterilization equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively.
• Participate in performance improvement and ongoing education.
