UPMC Hamot is seeking detail-oriented candidates to join our Central Sterile Processing team as a Central Sterile Processing Associate. In this role, you will perform the decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, distribution, and documentation of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment according to established procedures.

Full-time, 2nd shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM). Weekend and holiday rotations are required upon training completion.

In this role, you will perform the decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, distribution, and documentation of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment in accordance with established procedures. UPMC Hamot’s Central Sterile Processing team plays a vital role in supporting safe, high-quality surgical care and achieving the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Eligible candidates with no prior experience may qualify for a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Certified Central Sterile Processing professionals may be eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule:

Full-time, 2nd shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM). Weekend and holiday rotations are required upon completion of training. Training may be completed on dayshift.

The Central Processing Department (CPD) is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing the instrumentation and equipment used throughout our operating rooms and procedural areas. This is an active, team-oriented role that is essential to supporting surgical services and patient care.

Job title and salary will be determined based on qualifications and career ladder placement.

Overview:

To be trained to perform duties necessary for the proper decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, distribution, and documentation of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment according to established procedures. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
