Job description

Mission:

The Central Security Director will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security protocols to ensure the safety and security of Vox Church's campuses and activities. This role involves collaborating with Campus Pastors and Security Team leaders, providing relevant training, and continuously improving security measures to create a secure environment for the church community.

Outcomes:

  1. Cultivate healthy Security Team recruiting rhythms and practices.
  2. Develop training packages for onboarding, specialized training, and refreshers.
  3. Regularly refine our Emergency Operations Procedures (EOPs) and Security Team Handbook with best practices and lessons learned.
  4. Manage comprehensive security plans for services and church events.
  5. Conduct quarterly security assessments and update documentation accordingly.
  6. Recruit Security Teams for regional and all-church events.
  7. Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents.
  8. Oversee Vox’s Security Roundtable, which acts as a steering committee for policy and procedures.
  9. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with local law enforcement and security professionals to ensure effective coordination and response to security-related matters.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Willing to become an active member at Vox Church.
  2. High attention to detail and alertness to potential threats.
  3. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  4. Proficient at administrative tasks, such as scheduling, coordination, and developing procedures.
  5. Knowledgeable of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
  6. Minimum 3 years of experience in security management, emergency response, or law enforcement.

Other Information:

  1. Reports to: Operations Pastor
  2. Work Location: 131 Commercial Parkway, Building 1, Branford, CT 06405, with some work possible remotely.
  3. Schedule: 15 hours per week. Must be available on Sunday mornings (time depends on which campus they’d be supporting that Sunday), with flexibility for other days based on need and availability. Must be available some evenings to support events or to lead trainings.
  4. Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
