Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking an Access Care Representative to serve as the entry point for scheduling, registration, and billing-related data collection across services. You will promote a caring, professional manner while ensuring accurate data capture for billing and account processing.

The role includes day-shift work with a 40-hour week in New York’s Southern Tier, and a focus on supporting patients and internal teams within the Access Care and Revenue Cycle Operations departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years’ experience in a medical environment with insurance knowledge is preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and scheduling experience are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, register, and support financial compliance activities.
• Collect accurate data for billing and account processing.
• Provide professional, caring customer service at the entry point to UHS Revenue Cycle Operations.

Position Overview

The Access Care Representative performs a wide variety of activities related to scheduling, registration, financial compliance, and customer support for all services performed. The Access Care areas act as the entry point. It is the responsibility of an Access Care Representative to promote a caring, professional manner, while collecting Accurate and complete data necessary for billing and account processing.

Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Access Care, UHS Revenue Cycle Operations

Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Compensation Range: $17.05 - $22.17 per hour, depending on experience

Education/Experience

• Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Two years’ experience in medical environment with working knowledge of insurance applicable to outpatient medical care.
• Proficient computer skills, knowledge of Medical Terminology, experience with scheduling.

License/Certification

• Minimum Required: Not Applicable
• Preferred: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA)
• Current driver’s license
