Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking an Access Care Representative to support scheduling, registration, and billing data collection in the Revenue Cycle Operations team. The role emphasizes a caring, professional approach and accurate data gathering for all services performed.

The position is in the Access Care area, with a day shift and a 40-hour weekly schedule, located in New York’s Southern Tier. Prior medical environment experience and CHAA certification are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years’ experience in a medical environment preferred; familiarity with outpatient insurance.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Experience with scheduling is preferred.

Position Overview

The Access Care Representative performs a wide variety of activities related to scheduling, registration, financial compliance, and customer support for all services performed. The Access Care areas act as the entry point. It is the responsibility of an Access Care Representative to promote a caring, professional manner, while collecting Accurate and complete data necessary for billing and account processing.

Compensation Range:

$17.05 - $22.17 per hour, depending on experience

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Two years’ experience in medical environment with working knowledge of insurance applicable to outpatient medical care.
  • Proficient computer skills, knowledge of Medical Terminology, experience with scheduling.

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • Not Applicable

Preferred:

  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA)
  • Current driver’s license
