We are currently offering a sign-on bonus for Central Processing Technician eligible full-time positions! The amount of the sign-on bonus depends on your years of Central Processing experience.

$5,000 sign-on bonus, 2-year commitment – no experience necessary

$7,000 sign-on bonus, 2-year commitment – 1–2 years of Sterile Processing experience, with certification

$10,000 sign-on bonus, 2-year commitment > 2 years of Sterile Processing experience with certification

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job involves receiving, cleaning, distributing, and storing medical instruments and equipment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Transporting soiled equipment and performing decontamination and disinfection functions using automated equipment and manual cleaning. (30%)
  2. Operating sterilizers in accordance with regulatory requirements and manufacturer's instructions. (30%)
  3. Inspecting, auditing, and assembling surgical instrument sets and medical devices used in the Operating Room and other patient care areas. Assembling surgical case carts accurately and efficiently. (30%)
  4. Processing requests for patient care equipment via computerized systems and telephone. (5%)
  5. Contacting outside vendors for rental patient care equipment delivery, if necessary. (5%)
  6. Performing other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • For Central Service Technicians (CST) hired after 12/29/2020: Employees practicing central sterile processing before December 29, 2020, are exempt from certification requirements; they must pass a nationally accredited central service exam within 18 months of hire and maintain CRCST or CSPDT certification.

Preferred

  • Six months of sterile processing or hospital setting experience preferred.
