Central Processing Technician II (40 hours, Day/Evening)

Position Details
  • Schedule: 40 hours, Day/Evening, Every 3rd Weekend as needed
Position Summary

The CPD Technician II is a certified technician responsible for decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of medical/surgical supplies. The role requires technical expertise and attention to detail. The technician must have thorough knowledge of microbiology, cleaning procedures, disinfection, sterilization, and the care, handling, disassembly, and re-assembly of equipment and surgical instruments. Familiarity with case cart/inventory management systems, supply ordering, and maintaining inventory levels for operating rooms and labor and delivery is essential. Additional duties include delivery, retrieval, decontamination, re-assembly of patient equipment, and assisting with training junior technicians. Flexibility for on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a CRCST or CSPDT
  • At least one year of experience in sterile instrument processing
Skills and Knowledge
  • Effective communication in English with various hospital staff
  • Ability to interpret medical terminology and abbreviations
  • Proficiency in data entry and computer systems
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
