We are currently offering a sign-on bonus for Central Processing Technician eligible full-time positions! The amount of the sign-on bonus depends on your years of Central Processing experience.

$5,000 sign-on bonus, 2-year commitment – no experience necessary

$7,000 sign-on bonus, 2-year commitment – 1–2 years of Sterile Processing experience, with certification

$10,000 sign-on bonus, 2-year commitment > 2 years of Sterile Processing experience with certification

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job involves receiving, cleaning, distributing, and storing medical instruments and equipment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, and sterilizes medical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods, substances, and equipment. (30%)
  • Receives, stocks, packages, and distributes medical instruments and equipment. (30%)
  • Performs and documents quality assurance testing and inspection on stock. Manages inventories and reorders supplies. (30%)
  • Properly disposes of biohazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and unusable equipment and supplies. (10%)
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • For Central Service Technician (CST) hired after 12/29/2020: Employees practicing central sterile at the healthcare facility on or before December 29, 2020, are exempt from certification requirements:
  • Pass a nationally accredited central service exam within 18 months of hire.
  • Maintain certification as either a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT).

Preferred

  • Sterile processing or hospital setting experience.
  • Enrollment in a surgical tech / sterile processing program.
