Job description

Overview

Provides technical support to the lab by receiving and processing requisitions and specimens, and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into the computer.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred Education: Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology.
  • License, certification, and/or registration: MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (e.g., ASCP or AMT) preferred.
  • Experience: Previous work experience strongly preferred. Keyboarding experience, 40 wpm, preferred.
  • Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service environment, prioritize and adapt to changing tasks, maintain confidentiality, work under stress with minimal downtime, and collaborate effectively in a team. Flexibility regarding shift end times may be required.
