Responsibilities
- Serve as an expert consultant and educator regarding the preadmission/triage and admission process for multiple DCT facilities.
- Maintain current and accurate knowledge and provide consultation regarding DCT programs, preadmission activity, and the preadmission and admission process.
- Interpret and analyze all legal requirements to ensure compliance is met on all admissions.
- Advise, educate, and collaborate on procedural and technical aspects of programs so that administrative guidelines are developed and maintained to ensure quality services and good communication with our community partners and referral agencies.
- Take calls while multitasking and dealing with competing priorities.
- Process referrals that are received via fax and e-mail.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of professional case management or social work experience, preferably within a hospital or community setting, that demonstrates the following:
- Experience assessing client admissions and processing referral requests for client and/or case management services.
- Experience partnering with client support systems such as treatment teams, referral agencies, case managers, and community providers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with a variety of professionals, including staff, hospitals, and case managers.
Note: Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, sociology, psychology, counseling, social work or closely related field may substitute for 1 year of professional experience. Master’s degree in public health, nursing, sociology, psychology, counseling, social work or closely related may substitute for 2 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of treatment standards for mental illness and other disabilities.
- Knowledge of utilization management principles, processes, and plans, as well as a comprehensive understanding of how revenue, quality care, and resource utilization are interrelated.
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultures; ability to collaborate with people from different backgrounds.
