University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking a Central Plant Operator I to monitor, operate, adjust, maintain, and repair campus heating and cooling systems, including boilers and large chillers.
This on-site role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights up to 35 feet with fall protection, and wearing PPE per policy. Regular shifts include overtime and weekends, and compensation is $26.50–$29.50 per hour, with duties performed on campus satellite facilities as needed.

Job Duties: Monitors, operates, adjusts, maintains, and repairs a variety of technical equipment including but not limited to high-pressure boilers and large tonnage chillers for the campus Central Heating and Cooling plant.
Inspect, operate, and maintain heating and cooling equipment at campus satellite facilities.
Perform all duties in accordance with policy and procedures while utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Employees in this position are designated as essential employees and may be required to report to work during emergencies or campus closures in accordance with University policy.
Employees are required to perform all essential job duties on-site, including at campus satellite locations.
This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Compensation: $26.50 - $29.50 an hour (Salarywill bedeterminedbyfinalist'sexperience, training, education, and equity-based factors.)
