Job Overview

The Central Plant Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining the equipment within a central utility plant. This typically includes boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and other HVAC systems. The operator ensures efficient and safe heating and cooling distribution throughout a building or campus by regulating temperatures, pressures, and flow rates, performing routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting issues, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, system adjustments, and troubleshoot plant equipment to maintain continuous operations and maximize system efficiency.
• Respond to alarms, equipment malfunctions, and emergency situations, coordinating corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain operational logs and records, monitor building automation and control systems, support water treatment processes, and ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Experience in HVAC.
• Three (3) years of experience as a Central Plant Operator.
• Secret Security Clearance.
