Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Flexible schedule when required; adapt to healthcare changes.
• Must hold a current CPR certificate.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports prescription medications, refill orders, specialty medications, supplies, and inventory between the Central Pharmacy Service Center and designated facilities.
• Maintains chain of custody and security of all medications during transport.
• Ensures medications requiring refrigeration or temperature controls are transported per policy.
• Verifies delivery and receipt documentation as required.
• Responds promptly to urgent medication delivery requests to support patient care and operations.
• Maintains daily activity logs detailing routes, stops completed, and items transported.
• Delivers pharmacy supplies, inventory items, equipment, mail, and operational materials in a timely manner.
• Collects and returns pharmacy-related documents, records, and shipments requiring interfacility transfer.
• Assists with movement of inventory between pharmacy locations to support stock optimization.
• Sorts and organizes delivery items according to planned routes.
• Reports discrepancies, damaged items, or delivery concerns to leadership.
• Maintains courier vehicle by keeping it clean, fueled, and serviced.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and prescription information per HIPAA.
• Attends required safety, compliance, and departmental training.
• Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness and safety procedures.
• Reports safety concerns or medication transport issues immediately.
