Job summary

First Northern Bank is seeking a Central Operations Specialist in Dixon, CA to ensure accuracy and efficiency across daily operations. You will support internal departments through transaction processing, account maintenance, reconciliation, and data validation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of prior experience in financial services or banking operations or related field.
  • Basic data entry skills; knowledge of Central Operations procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers, ACH returns/origination, cash ordering/shipping, foreign items, mail-in deposits, and ICSD/CARS.
  • Branch IRA & CD support; handle inquiries, notify customers, and process collections; manage CDs, IRAs, HSAs, and signature cards.
  • Balance ATM, perform file maintenance, process card orders, and handle disputes; support ATM branches.
  • Process Reg E disputes, non-posts, chargebacks, check adjustments, and other dept. tasks timely.
  • Assist manager/supervisor with monthly certifications.
  • Handle inquiries from branches and other institutions via email, calls, and requests.
  • Balance correspondent bank accounts and other dept. accounts responsibilities.
  • Manage branch card numbers and supply of instant issue plastic.
  • Balance, process, and review department reports.
  • Assist with department projects and fraud research with other institutions.

Job description

This Central Operations Specialist performs moderate to complex duties. This role will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of day-to-day operational processes. This position is responsible for supporting various internal departments through transaction processing, account maintenance, reconciliation, and data validation activities. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment are essential in this role.

Responsibilities Include
  • Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers, ACH Returns, ACH Originations, cash ordering/shipping, foreign items, mail in deposits, and ICSD/CARS
  • Branch IRA & CD support; handle branch inquiries and resolve or direct inquiries to appropriate personnel; send notifications and interest checks to customers; process incoming and outgoing collections according to established guidelines; file maintenance on CDs, IRAs, HSAs, signature cards and account conversions
  • ATM balancing, file maintenance, card orders, process unauthorized disputes, and ATM branch support
  • Process Reg E Disputes, non-posts, chargebacks, check adjustments, and other department responsibilities timely and accurately
  • Assist manager or supervisor in monthly certifications
  • Handle all inquiries from branches and other institutions as it relates to department functions, including support requests, emails, and phone calls
  • Balance correspondent bank accounts, and other department account responsibilities
  • Manage card numbers for branch issuance and manage branch supply of instant issue plastic
  • Balance, process, and review all department reports
  • Assist with department projects
  • Research fraud and work with other institutions for resolution

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of prior experience in financial services, banking operations or other administrative related experience required
  • Basic data entry skills, some knowledge of Central Operations procedures preferred

Pay Range (Hourly): $20.00 - 24.00/hour
